We have an immediate need for a part-time Dr. of Physical Therapy to serve in the role of Programming Associate. As a Programming Associate, you will apply clinical expertise and insights to the development of our group class and personal training curriculum and educational content/workshops. This critical position must have a solid understanding of functional strength movements, group class design, and the science behind loading, volume, and intensity to create impactful programming for our 55+ members. The role will work closely with our Head Coach and Corporate Training Team to ensure that programming enables our members to improve strength, balance, mobility, endurance, and cognitive health in a FUN and safe class experience.
The programming associate role is a part time role and requires an ability to be in center 5-10 hours per week and schedules may vary from time to time.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Group Programming Development: Provide input and feedback on programming cycles to ensure desired outcomes can be achieved safely and also with variety and fun. Introduce & test new movements.
Personal Training Templates: Provide input and guidance on Personal Training Templates including how to customize to achieve member objectives in areas of: balance/fall prevention, strength/power, mobility/flexibility, pre/post-surgical plans.
Workshops: StrongerLife develops and delivers educational workshops for members and non-members on a periodic basis. The Programming Director identifies topics of interest and relevance, develops the content and then partners with Center Leadership (Head Coach, General Manager) to deliver the content.
Blogs, Social Media Posts: Programming Directors across the StrongerLife Network of Centers will contribute educational content which can be distributed digitally via blogs, YouTube, and various StrongerLife social media channels. Content must be relevant for 55+, clinically credible, and easily consumed by StrongerLife members. See “Blogs” and StrongerLife YouTube channel for examples. Requires occasional Social Media content creation including Reels, YouTube, etc.
Coaches StrongerLife class, typically 1-2 classes/week.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) required; demonstrated interest, training, or experience working with older-adult (55+) populations preferred.
Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science or related field
Experience coaching older adults in functional fitness and weight-training
Expert knowledge of physiology, exercise techniques, and body mechanics
One or more of the following fitness certifications, or equivalent: CSCS, NASM-CPT, NASM-SFP, CrossFit L1, CrossFit L2
Enjoy working in a highly social, active environment
Strong communications and interpersonal skills
CPR/AED certification
Required Hours: 1-2 Days in Center with consistent weekly schedule to be finalized with Area Director and Head Coach
IDEAL EXPERIENCE
Physical Therapist: 3+ years
Passion for Senior Fitness and ideally one or more group fitness or personal training certifications
